This tutorial is devoted to drawing a nice fairy using Photoshop. Before you start, look at the final image:

Step 1:

Create a new document sized 700×600 px. Fill the new layer with black color.

Step 2:

Draw something like that using pen tool:

Now select brush tool, set 2px size. Return to the pen tool menu, right click on the path and choose “Stroke Path”.

Set brush mode. Do it several times, create some new similar paths. Then take eraser tool:

Erase some parts of the lines to acquire this result:

Step 3:

At a new layer paint a little part of the line with color ff00d7. Change the layer’s blending mode to overlay:

At another layer draw one more line across the white stripes with color 0000ff. Blending mode-color burn:

And again at one more layer draw a green stain colored 13e11c. Blending mode-color dodge:

By the analogy draw some more stripes:

Step 4:

You’ll need it to decorate the picture. Though you can load some other brushes, these fit best. Create a new layer and draw some stars. But at first, go to the brushes panel and set such settings:

Draw the stars along the lines (with yellow color) and lower opacity of the layer till 60%. Look:

And draw some more with white colored brush:

Create a new layer again and draw some points of different bright colors. Set the layer’s blending mode overlay. The result is nice!

(Also draw some white points at the lines using standard brush tool of different sizes).

Step 5:

Take this brush:

At a new layer point once at the center of the picture. Go to “Add A Layer Style->Gradient Overlay”

The settings are below:

Step 6:

Choose some of the little star brushes and go to the brush panel again:

Draw shiny little sparkles along the lines. After you do this, apply “Add a Layer Style->Outer Glow”

with the settings:

Step 7:

Now paste a fairy image into the picture. If you draw it yourself, look for the techniques of drawing at this tutorial.  To stylize the fairy according to the image’s style, apply “Add a Layer Style->Outer Glow” and use the standard settings.
